To the right is your opportunity to have a look at the new poker tourney clock named "The All-In poker clock" click to find out more!

Using position
The use of position is very important when considering how to play your hand. From the earlier positions the hand needs to be very good, this is mainly because you don't know what the other players are going to do, therefore it should be a strong enough hand of which you are prepared to call any later raises, where as the later positions give you a great advantage on how to play your hand with the knowledge of the other players strength or weakness. Position is also important when considering a semi bluff/bluff, later positions are a much more sensible option, again as you have more insight into your opponents strength or weakness.

Building your bankroll
Finding out which game suits you best is an important aspect to building your bankroll, and you should try and find this out as quick as possible. Firstly you need to decide on which style of poker for example texas hold'em, omaha, 7 card stud, razz. Then in some games you will need to decide between no limit, pot limit and limit. (see poker lingo) You then need to select from sit and go's, heads up, tourneys or ring games, followed by choosing the table with the suitable amount of players for you style of play. As a rough guide new players with a small bankroll could play low limit ring games or low buy-in sit and go's and save the higher levels and bigger tourneys until you have more experience.

If you play online poker at all, but especially if you have hopes of being profitable at the game, then you need an edge. You need Pokerbility.

Recognizing player types

When you sit down at a table you need to try and work out what player types your opponents are. This will give you a great advantage and help you to know how to play your hand. This will also help you to assess the way you play and hopefully help you to improve your game. Players generally fit into 4 categories which are:-
Loose-Passive - This is a player that will call with most hands, they will rarely fold or raise. It is not wise to try to bluff this player as they will probably call. Also known as a calling station.
Loose-Aggressive - This is a player that will play most hands and bet or raise with them. A player that likes to gamble. Also known as a maniac.
Tight-Passive. - This is a player that will play good hands and will bet with them but normally when they know they ahead. There will not be much bluffing or use of poker tools. Also known as a rock.
Tight-Aggressive - This is a player that will play good hands and bet well with them. This type of player will often be a good player and will bet correctly using pot odds, check raising and re-raising when necassary. Also known as a solid player.

Hosting your own home game

First things you will need in order to host your own home game are players, a good size table (check out www.pokertabledvd.com), a new pack of cards,(worth using a new pack every time), chips including dealer button and the "All-in poker clock" software.
